Yannick Bonvin Rey
Yannick used Sempervivum leaves as brushes. Each plant has a particular signature and gives life to my paintings in a different way, as if the living thing of the plant used, although invisible, left a trace on the canvas or wood. Her interest in this project increased because Sempervivum is part of her childhood landscape in the mountains. As she developed her artwork around the Sempervivum theme, she became interested in the leaves, painting with them, seeing their reactions and making this series. The aim is not to reproduce something but to propose a poetic territory influenced by the characteristics of this amazing plant.
